How to Join Harrow Woodcraft Folk District

Groups

There are four different groups for different age ranges. The groups tend to overlap each other so that they get to mix. Groups meet in Harrow Town Centre close to tube station at these times…

  • Elfins – 4 to 8 year olds. Meeting at 6.30pm until 8pm on Tuesdays.
  • Pioneers – 9-11 year olds. Meeting at 6.30pm until 8pm on Tuesdays
  • Venturers and DF's – Senior school upwards. Meeting at 8pm until 9.30pm on Tuesdays.

Involvement by parents and carers is encouraged and all helpers and leaders are DBS checked for the children's safety.

However, if you are seriously interested in attending one of the groups please contact John Woolf on Tel 020 8428 2409 or for more info on Harrow Woodcraft Folk see website https://harrow-woodcraft-new-members.org.uk/ or Email us at harrow@woodcraft.org.uk

At Harrow Woodcraft Folk we believe passionately in equality and co-operation – everyone is welcome to join our groups. A movement for children and young people, open to everyone. We offer a place where children will grow in confidence, learn about the world and start to understand how to value our planet and each other.
Harrow Woodcraft Folk operates with four groups. Elfins aged 6-9, Pioneer’s aged 9-12, Venturer’s aged 13-15 and DF’s aged 16-21.

We have groups that meet every Tuesday (Term time only), with games, discussions, badges and lots of laughter, fun is had by all! Our members enjoy co-operative and environmental activities with trips, camps and other outdoor activities are also undertaken at weekends or during summer holidays.

We believe in equality and friendship. Woodcraft is for boys and girls, people of all faiths are welcome. We also welcome children of all abilities and pride ourselves on our inclusive nature. Any child or young person is welcome to join us.

We have groups for children aged 5-16 meeting weekly. Groups are run by parents and volunteer leaders and encourage all of us to learn about big ideas through fun activities like singing, playing and debating. Our aim is to have great fun, but also to try and develop children’s self-confidence and build their awareness of society around them.

Leaders Information
All leaders are screen through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and also for added protection screen through the Child Protection check. All leaders who operate with groups and indeed any adults who works with young people are all checked vigorously through CRB and Child Protection. We take very seriously the safety of the young people, so therefore we do as much checks as we can to create a safe environment for the young people.
